Agnes Ireland b. 1857 is my great-great-grandmother. She married Alexander Young. I have been able to trace family to George and Isabella Scott. I am trying to prove a couple stories/court cases to the same John Ireland b. 1655. His father was James Ireland b. 1630.

Agnes Ireland b. 1875 --> David Ireland b. 1823 --> George Ireland B. 1772 --> William Ireland b. 1732 --> James Ireland b. 1707 -->William Ireland b. 1678 --> John Ireland b. 1655 all within the county of Peebleshire. James Ireland was b. 1630 in Warton, Lancashire England.

Any information appreciated.

Hi CW

It looks like we have the same ancestors, but I've never heard of any court cases or stories regarding John Ireland/Irland 1655. I'm intrigued. Also, do you have a reference for James Ireland's birth in Warton?
