I'm trying to find a link to Walter Ballantyne c 1797 and Helen Scott c 1797 - they moved to Fodderty, Ross and Cromarty. Walter was a shepherd.

I think they had links to Yarrow and possibly to the Laidlaw family.

Any information would be very welcome.

I'm trying to trace my family line and have got to a David Henderson Laidlaw {1845} whose mother seems to be a B {possibly Barbara} Scott {B 1826} and her mother being a Mary Scott {b 1794}. All seem to be from Selkirkshire.
Long shot i know but there is the Laidlaw/ Scott/ timescale link so hope this is of help.
