Richill Oprs on;y show Robert as the father and no mother. The John who married Katherine Grieve was in 1773 probably too early to consider.
I dont see Wilhelmina in the Roxburgh marriage OPRs

Just a quick note - check the MI for Old Hobkirk and found the Turnbull stones

you mentioned that andrew's died too far apart from Elizabeth

found a similar Stone - it states that Andrew died in 1764 and elizabeth (no surname) died in 1719 age78 no mention of them being husband and wife probably NOT - Andrew was probably Elizabeth's son on the rear of the stone it had robert turnbull, miller wollie miln at died 1734 age 43

Adjacent stone is for Robert Turnbull miller at Hallrule died 1898 age 70 plus children wives etc

mary shiel 1st wife
helen turnbull 2nd wife

seems to be a Turnbull plot of stones

I have a note
There was an old family of Turnbull who occupied WooUee Miln
three hundred years ago. Andrew Turnbull died and was buried
in Hobkirk. The stone has been restored, but the 1622 is not
correct, as it follows that Elizabeth Lillie, his wife, died in 1719,
nearly a hundred years after her huslMuid's death.

Robert Turnbull is mentioned in the register of baptisms as follows:
Robert Turnbull in WooUee Miln had issue Isabel, bom
1718; Janet, 1719; and two sons, Thomas and William.

His grandson, **Robert Turnbull in Hallrule Mill, had issue
*Robert, bom 1804; John, bom 1807; Isobel, bom 1809;
Elizabeth, bom 1811. saying the following

I have the last group a names as part of my tree **/* being my line. ** not to sure as birth date for him, anyone know any more others mentioned?

I had a look a his death cert and not to sure his mother's christian reads as Wilhelmina so should do a bit more digging it not easy to read - more like E____ Hall ___ Douglas.

Did see his marriage the Helen

The Turnbull's aren't the easiest to pin down - a lot of non-conformist so the records are hard to trace.

but if I get some time I'll have a further look the connection with Hawick, Jedburgh and the Rulewater should help.
