My great grand mother from Hawick died in the District Asylum in 1934, after suffering I believe several strokes.
Does anyone know where this was located, or any information on ite.

Sounds like you are looking for Dingleton Hospital, Melrose

No longer there - closed a few years back - has been demolished now housing.
