Hi, Michael Thompson from Australia. My G,G,G,Grandfather was Matthew, who apparently worked on a farm/estate called Canny Bank Farm at Hutton. One of his sons, Thomas came to Aust. about late 1850's early 1860's. To date I have not been able to find any thing about Canny Bank, so I would be interested to here from any one who may be able to shed some light on this.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Michael,

I cannot find Cannybank Farmhouse on present day maps but it was on maps before 1982 and as far back as 1862. I found it on web site
old-maps.co.uk and under the heading 1862 Pre - WW11 1:10,560 - BERWICKSHIRE. You will find Cannybank farmhouse at co-ordinates
388951 653459.
It might just be a ruin now but the next time I am down there I will take a look, its only about 30 miles from me.

If you have any problems with the Old Map site e-mail me at
