i am trying to find out some info about my grandparents who were in walkerburn. Apparently my dad Ian Moore was moved to Walkerburn when he was a young lad, and Airdrie crops up a lot from places i have looked, but my dad won't accept this and he was born in 1949, but i have recently found that his 'dad' died in 1939! He had a brother called George who was born in 1929ish, his mums name was Marion Moore born 1909ish died 1962ish. her maiden name was simpson, My father seems to want to do nothing about his history, but it has come to a point where it has to be done, can anybody help me? Many thanks

Hi George, Thats what i have found out too, but then if George died in 1939, i am trying to find out if she remarried and that would then be my dads proper dad. Thanks for finding that out already :-)

Hi Darryl,

I know that Marion SIMPSON married George MOORE in 1930 in Calderhead district, Lanark, Scotland and that Marion MOORE ms SIMPSON died in 1963 in Galashiels district, Selkirkshire. I don't know if this is the same family but it certainly looks like it. I will have another look and see if I can find anything further.
