I am researching my 3x g grandfather and his family. I have been unable to find a birth for Andrew or his wife or any siblings that Andrew may have. I did find their marriage and their shipping records to Australia in 1838 as well as their return trip. Any help with this line would be very much appreciated.

STEWART, William abt 1781-1854. born in either Roxburgh Shire (1841 census) or Ireland (1851 census). m. WYLIE, Isabella abt 1790-1841 born in Roxburgh Shire.

- STEWART, Andrew b. abt 1810, Roxburghshire
m. IRVINE, Elizabeth b. abt 1809, Dumfries-Shire
- 10 children. 5 were born in Roxburghshire, the rest born in Australia. The family emigrated to Australia in 1838 but returned to Jedburgh for 6 years to educate the children 1853-1859.

When Andrew returned to Scotland he rented a farm in Jedburgh with his father 'The Ploughlands' - his father William resided with him until his death in 1854.

- STEWART, Isabella b. abt 1814 (daughter as stated on 1841 census)
- STEWART, Agness b. abt 1834 (from 1841 & 1851 census)

** Isabella Stewart (daughter) is mentioned on the 1841 census with William, his wife Isabella and grand daughter Agness. She doesn't show up on the 1851 census with William and grand daughter, Agness. I have been unable to find out anything more about them.

try the surrounding parishes like Crailing/Nisbet and Ancrum - Ploughlands in outside Jedburgh towards Crailing/Nisbet.

Stewart in a common name in the Roxburghshire
