Which newspaper would cover local events in ladhope (births, marriages deaths included) for the above time period and are any available in the research facility?

Try the Border Telegraph and Southern Reporter - the Hertiage Hub have digitised copies of the S/Reporter etc, but the Library at Galashiels have Hard Copy of Border Telegraph in research room (open access) worth a look - also have other miscellanous newspaper avail
