A recently discovered grt grandmother. Born Kelso 1841. She married in Basingstoke in 1869, and I am presuming she moved south with an employer. Does the Rycroft family of Kempshott Park Hampshire have any connection with the Kelso area as I am assuming she is connected as her husband worked for them in Dummer Hampshire. Did she meet him there or in Kels? Any ideas to solve the mystery?

It would help me to know more as if there was a connection it might be where she worked previously. Can you tell me where she is in 51 and 61?

I can search but if you already know it would save time.

Hello Barbara
I have discovered her father was a farm labourer at softlaw . I believe she worked for a member of the Ryecroft family from Dummer. Her name Margaret Marshall Sharp.I can post more details but think the best way is to discover names of those who married into this family (the Ryecrofts)and see if they are located originally in Kelso. thanks for replying.

Have you found her in earlier census? And do you know anything about her parents?
