Would like to connect with people with similar intrests.
My wife was born in Gordon her grandmother was the Station Master at Gordon for a number of years.

My interests don't coincide exactly with yours, but I had a female relative who married a man called BLACKIE or BLAIKIE (the spellings vary, don't they!), and I've traced his family back to Greenlaw in Berwickshire, where James BLAIKIE married Mary HOGG in 1820.
You also mention HAIG. I believe I'm descended from Johne MILLAR and Jeane HAIG who were married in 1676 at Fogo, Berwickshire.

Hi Ian, My wifes grandmother was Eliza BLACKIE. Eliza's had about 10 siblings. I know quite a lot about Helen Blackie and her husband Charles RAMSEY also about Robert Blackie who died at Middlethird, Gordon in 1935.
I would like to understand the Blackie family in more detail I have followed the trail back to James BLACKIE or BLAIKIE and his wife Janet ALLEN, they had a monumnet in Coldingham. and would now like to widen my knowledge. |

Regarding James BLACKIE and Agnes ALLEN, I see I have a copy of their son James's death-certificate from Scotlandspeople. I must have thought, mistakenly, that this family were related to the James BLACKIE who married Jane PETTIGREW, sister of my great-great-grandmother, in Hawick.
Anyway, James BLACKIE, married to Mary MARSHALL, son of James BLACKIE and Agnes ALLAN [sic], died at Coldingham in 1876, aged 75, and his death was registered by his daughter Ellenor YOUNG.
