Hi, Trying to find the year of Agnes birth, from the 1851 census she is down as 75, born Dunse, Berwickshire, which makes it 1776, give or take a year or two. Also her parents names etc.
Agnes married a Robert Liddle in 1801 Dunse, they had a daughter Elizabeth born 1813 Dunse, but I can't find her anywhere on the web site to confirm this, Is It possible that she wasn't Baptised. Roberts parents were James Liddle and Elizabeth Carins, Robert born Coldingham. NZ death printout of Elizabeth b 1813, parents down as---------- left blank Any info would help and if I have missed anything, please feel free to ask.
Thanks |

I think her name is dickson not dickison - the former is very common in Berwickshire.
did find some children for a Agnes Dickson(Dixon) and Robert Liddle but no Elizabeth - Twins David & Alexanader born 28 Apr 1803 at Chirnside, David born 18 Feb 1807 and Robert born 10 Aug 1812 at Bunkle & Preston - in the IGI
Remember that it wasn't manditory the register birth until 1855 in Scotland also if they were non-conformist you might have to get hold of the church record,as also not always in the offical records. ie Prespetrain/United Reform, Methidist, Bapist, quaker, and alike - quite common in the border to be non-conformist.

possible parents for Agnes
David Dickson and Agnes Klinshile had a daug Anges 27 Aug 1777 at Langton
possible because of naming pattern of son called David and the repeating of it when one died.
also possible the Agnes Klinshile's father is called Alexander.
NB:All the places I have mention are in and around Duns.
hope this helps

I did a bit more digging in the IGI
the Alexander name is probably off the Liddle side
found a older sister Agnes 1770 and 2 older brothers David 1770 and James 1774 for Agnes Dickson under the strange spelling of Dixson
Dickson spelling change - Dicksone, dixon, Dixson and the alike.
Klinshile in also spelt Clinksel
All born in Langton parish included the parents
Langton in the parish adjacent to Duns (Dunse as was)
I'll have a look through some of other sources as I have Dickson's in my family from Berwickshire (generally the Swinton area)
