I would like to hear from anybody researching the family line of James Hart, Provost of Jedburgh, father of James Hart, (1663-1729)
Minister of Old Greyfriars, Edinburgh (1702-1729), who strongly opposed the idea of a union of parliaments with England and from the pulpit he denounced the Principal of The University of Edinburgh, long time counsellor to William of Orange and a powerful advocate of union, as an enemy to his country and a traitor to the church.
many thanks & regards, Strath
