I looked for a Robert Darling born anywhere in Scotland between 1795 and 1805 and there wasn't one born to a John Darling and A- Wight.

A John Darling and Agnes Wight (m. 1729, Galashiels) had a son called Robert at Galashiels in 1744, but Grace Darling was born in 1815.

Maybe you've missed out a generation.
